How to Measure a Treadmill Mat – Guide Only
- Remove treadmill from power point
- Measure the width of the mat with a measuring tape as in figure 1. As a guide, the width of most mats will be between 340mm and 500mm.
3. Measuring the length. Find the join in the mat and move it to near the rear roller. Mark a line on it with a black marker (fig 2) and measure 1 metre. Mark another line on the mat (fig 3) and push the mat until that mark is near the rear roller. Now measure another metre, mark another line on the mat as in fig 3 and push the mat again until the next mark is near the rear roller. This time the join should be visible so only measure to the start mark and this will give you your size (fig 4).
As a guide, the length of most mats will be between 2500mm and 3000mm. Now that you have your size, take away 10mm to allow for any stretching and mat thickness. These measurements will allow us to select the proper sized mat required.
Remember to double check your sizes to avoid delays and fitting problems.
Difference between the Standard 1-ply, Premium 2-ply and Commercial 2-ply Treadmill Replacement Belts:
Standard 1-ply Treadmill Replacement Belt is a 1.6mm thick belt with a 0.2mm underlay. Recommended average usage up to 1 hour a day, 3-5 times a week.
Premium 2-ply Treadmill Replacement Belt is a 2.3mm thick belt with a 0.8mm underlay. Recommended average usage up to 3 hours a day, 3-7 times a week.
Commercial 2-ply Treadmill Replacement Belt is a 2.8mm thick belt with a 1.5 mm underlay and a lot tighter weaved belting. Recommended average usage 6 – 12 hours a day.
We recommend using the Premium 2-ply replacement belts as they are quieter and made of tougher material, offer more cushioning and will last a lot longer.
We recommend using the Commercial 2-ply Replacement Belt for Commercial Situations like Gyms, Personal Trainers, Apartment Blocks and High Usage Treadmills.
